Swedish for PhD students

Center for Academic Teaching and Learning (CAKL) invites foreign Ph.d. students to participate in a course in Swedish beginning fall semester 2019. We will meet on Wednesdays at 10-12 am starting in September. Depending on funding, we will offer a continuation course during spring semester 2020, starting the first week of February. We don't expect you to know any Swedish so we start from scratch at beginner level. In class, we will work mostly with oral practice and grammar instruction, while written assignments will be made at home. The course will focus on your needs, and you will have plenty of opportunity to influence the curriculum. The course pack consists of "Rivstart A1A2" textbook and workbook. The number of participants is limited, so admission depends on the number of applicants.

Your commitment: You will devote approximately 6 hours/week to class participance and homework. There is no exam, but in order to get a certificate, you have to be present 80% of classes. More absence will require make-up assignments.

If you have any questions/concerns, don't hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Karin Zetterberg
