Oral Pathology

This programme is a full-time, two-year international master's programme in Oral pathology with clinical training. The programme is offered to dentists with a minimum of two years clinical experience after graduation, who seek to improve their competence in research as well as theoretical knowledge and skills in diagnostic Oral Pathology. 


Upon successful completion of the international master's programme in Oral Pathology, which includes a research project and the defence of a thesis, students will be awarded a Master's Degree in Dental Science (MDSc). Students will be able to histopathologically diagnose both common and rare important diseases of the oral mucosa, jaw bone and salivary glands. They will also develop theoretical knowledge on the etiology and pathogenesis of common diseases.


Students work with various thematic slide collections of diseases as well as routine biopsies referred to the department under the close guidance of a diverse and experienced faculty in the field of Oral Pathology.

Course components

After an introductory course in comprehensive dentistry involving all aspects of odontology, a variety of lectures, seminars, self-directed learning and clinical diagnostic pathology, as well as idependent thesis work are incorporated into the programme in Oral Pathology.

Areas of focus include oral mucosal, bone and salivary gland pathology, and various histological techniques.
