Interaction Design

Interaction Design concerns the design of human interaction and communication by means of digital or
digitally facilitated artifacts and media. It is a subject within design science, oriented towards the practice of Interaction Design through a synthesis of constructive work and critical reflection.

Interaction Design has emerged from the intersection of academic fields such as human - computer interaction, computer - supported collaborative work and participatory design as well as several traditional design fields such as industrial design, graphic design and architecture – thereby combining intellectual traditions of the humanities, the social sciences and the design sciences.

Moreover, important contributions to the formation of Interaction Design originate in expressive and production - oriented fields within the arts and the media.
The primary focus at Malmö University is on those aspects of Interaction Design that are relevant to the research area New Media, Public Spheres and Forms of Expression.
