There are usually fees connected to these programs and generally all tuition and other fees are to be paid by the student, unless otherwise stated. No scholarships are available from the International Office. It cannot be guaranteed that credits will be transferred upon return. Please check with your faculty/department/school regarding this.

Summer School: Smart cities & engineering for Sustainable Architecture

July 2-20, 2018

This programme has been designed for students with a background in Architecture or Engineering, wishing to learn more about eco-cities, urban planning and green issues. The first week is organized in Paris, and the last 2 weeks on our Troyes campus (Champagne region).

In parallel with the 2 scientific modules, students will receive a survival French language class, and will participate in cultural visits, guided tours and social events.

The technical part of the programme will be evaluated through a project and will grant them 6 ECTS.

Data Mining and Business Intelligence for Cyber Security Application Summer Program

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, July 3 - July 31, 2018

The purpose of this unique program is to provide theoretical, practical knowledge and hands-on experience. Students will learn the basic tools of data mining and the utilization of machine learning techniques for solving cyber security problems. In addition, students will take part in professional field trips to leading companies, in order to enhance their understanding of data mining and cyber security.

1. International Summer University (ISU)

Osnabrück Campus, 12 July – 3 August 2018

Specializations on bachelor level: Global Marketing Management, Economics of Globalization, Cultural Management, Corporate Finance, Clinical Perspectives in Physiotherapy

 Specialization on postgraduate level: Global Healthcare Management

Students choose one specialization, which is then combined with classes on German language as well as study trips, company visits and cultural activities.

Students meet participants from a variety of countries and study in an intercultural environment. The subjects are taught by academics from Osnabrück and its internationals partner universities with plenty of profession experience.

Upon successful participation students receive a certificate of attendance and 5 ECTS credit points. The program is taught in English.

2. Summer University Lingen (SUL)

Lingen Campus, 8 July – 21 July 2018

Subject on bachelor and postgraduate level: Management in a global environment

Many local companies have strong ties in the Emsland region while operating internationally and globally at the same time. Many of its companies are small or mid-sized-family-owned enterprises. Consciousness of traditions, ingenuity and intensive networking are important success factors. The unemployment rate is quite low in this region. Thus is the aim of the Summer University to analyse the factors of their success through a two week program in the English language. Students will gain comprehensive insights into the regional, international and global procedures of companies in the region. To this end, theory based company concepts in the fields of marketing, logistics, technology analysis, family-run companies and HR management are compared with real life practices in these companies.

Upon successful participation students receive a certificate of attendance and 5 ECTS credit points.

Tropical Marine Biology, intensive short course, Murdoch University

June 25 - July 17, 2018

The Tropical Marine Biology intensive course covers three main areas:

  • The diversity and physical processes of Western Australia's marine habitats
  • A focus on coral reef environments; the biodiversity of reef organism
  • Biological processes, with a focus on coral reef ecosystems

Vietnam Summer School

June 25 - July 13, 2018

Join students from Vietnam and around the world for an intensive three-week for-credit study program in exotic Saigon, Vietnam. Study in English at a contemporary university with Vietnamese and international classmates from all over the world. All programs include practical components where you will be exposed to industry leaders and local practice. You can expect to be moving around and exploring Ho Chi Minh City with local guides, putting in to practice the theory taught in class. Ljubljana Summer School - Take the Best from East & West

July 2-20, 2018

The summer school will take place at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Students are welcome to choose among 32 academically challenging and intellectually stimulating courses on Bachelor´s and Master´s Level. In addition, the programme offers the opportunity to gain international and intercultural experience, explore different parts of Slovenia and take part in our organized social activities, such as International & Slovenian evening, cultural & sport events and many more.

Australian Catholic University Summer School

Business Innovation Summer Programme (BISP)

July 1-21, 2018

Cologne Business School (CBS) and University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) have established a unique European Summer Programme that focuses on innovative business design and management, held in Cologne and Barcelona - two of the cities with strong economic power in Europe.

Students will be provided an extensive insight into innovative business design and design thinking, as well as economic and cross cultural management in Europe. This knowledge will be enforced through group projects on exciting case studies and different company visits.

Global Health - International Summer Program, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel

July 3 - July 31, 2018

 

The program provides students with a comprehensive learning experience that combines classes, professional field trips and practicum which will enable students to explore the realities of health and society in southern Israel.

The Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), Germany conducts the 20th Summer Course "The European System of Human Rights Protection", July 9-20, 2018 at the Faculty of Law.

 

This Summer Course, held in English, will deal in detail specifically with the European system of human rights protection. Although there are numerous summer courses and other special study programs within Europe on human rights protection, this course provides an integrated treatment of the various European systems and of specifically European issues of human rights protection.

We will provide 10 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points for the participation at our Summer Course.

The total fee for the program is 490 EURO. This charge includes:

- full tuition costs;
- accommodation for full period of the program;
- all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Students can apply for a scholarship, which will be offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The International Summer University Frankfurt

July 15 - August 11, 2018

 

ISU Frankfurt offers students an opportunity to learn about relevant political and financial topics right in the financial center of Germany – we take field trips to the European Central Bank, German Central Bank, and German Stock Exchange. The city is our classroom!

Students can take courses in European Finance and European Studies. Along with German language courses, the ISU Frankfurt program is worth up to 9 ECTS points. The program is taught entirely in English and designed for international students.

Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt Summer Schools

July 16 - August 10, 2018 (In Eichstätt) July 16 - Julu 28, 2018 (In Ingolstadt)

In Eichstätt the program is intended for students in the areas of German studies and social sciences, but also for professionals. Courses are offereed for absolute beginners and other courses for participants with good to advanced knowledge of German.

In Ingolstadt the Faculty of Business Administration arranges "Firsm in Society", a summer school for students studying towards a Masters (or advanced Bachelors) degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or the Social Sciences.

International Summer German Courses at Bielefeld University

August 3-30, 2018

Bielefeld University is delighted to be offering summer courses once more in 2018 in German as a Foreign Language for international students and graduates from all disciplines. Participants can expect an extensive programme that includes general German language lessons as well as projects tailored to academic disciplines.

Summer School on Intercultural China Studies in Shanghai

August 1-31, 2018

The programme provides for inspiring lectures in all important aspects of the relations with China e.g. Chinese culture and tradition, economy, diplomacy, and language training. It is designed as a capacity building initiative for students considering exchange programmes with China or, in a longer perspective, undertaking professional activities in this region. Lectures and language classes will be delivered by top experts in their respective fields from Europe and China. 

Apart from formal classes and language training, students can experience immersion in a number of cultural and social activities intended to deepen the understanding of China e.g. movie nights, tai chi classes, tea ceremony and multiple excursions of their choice, for example to Hanghzou, Water Town TongLi or XiTang, Xi´an, Beijing, and to the famous Great Wall. 

Students will be hosted at university dormitories of the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and assisted with local and European students and organisers who will help participants make the experience rich, memorable and fun!

“Viadrinicum”: “Transsectoral PeaceLab. Hybrid Solutions to Hybrid Conflicts? Academia, Civil Society and the Arts”

Frankfurt (Oder), August 20 – September 2, 2018

Viadrinicum is an annual summer school devoted to the countries of the Eastern Partnership region with a special focus on Ukraine. This year it will take place in the form of transsectoral PeaceLab, aiming to tackle the complex issues of war and peace mediation from multiple theoretical and methodological perspectives. With a strong emphasis on the participatory element of educational process the school will allow its participants to deepen their knowledge with the help of academic seminars and enhance their practical and methodological skills in the framework of several project-oriented workshops. Students, PhD candidates, young NGO activists and artists (up to 35 years of age) from all fields are invited to apply.

Subject to final approval of the German Foreign Office and Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftstiftung (DPWS), European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) will be able to fund up to 30 travel scholarships (€ 100-700, depending on country of residence).

You can apply for the scholarship if you meet the following requirements:

   • You are a student, a PhD candidate, an NGO activist or an artist up to 35 y/o, from any country of the world;

   • You have a genuine interest in transsectoral and interdisciplinary approaches to the 

      problems of conflict and peace;

   • Your knowledge of English is sufficient to take an active part in the discussions.

BUP Summer Course 2018 “Sustainability Innovations in a Circular Economy”

Hamburg, Germany, September 5-8, 2018

The Summer Course is an initiative of the German offices of the Baltic University Programme in Hamburg and Zittau (Germany), in cooperation with the WSB University in Wroclaw, as part of the Baltic University Programme. It is organized in cooperation with the EU Projects “FORCE – Cities Cooperating for Circular Economy” and “LARS – Learning among Regions about Smart Specialisation”. The summer course is meant to acquaint delegates from various countries about matters related to circular economy for catalysing sustainable development in the Baltic, as well as foster international and multicultural learning.
