For those who work as a support person

As a support person for a fellow student with a disability you have a very important role to play. A support person can provide notetaking or act as a guide, mentor or study assistant.

Notetaking support

Providing notetaking support involves helping students with a functional impairment to take notes during lectures. You must naturally take notes carefully to ensure that what you write can be read and understood by others than yourself.

Working as a guide means that you help a student to become acquainted with the University buildings and to move from one place to another.

A mentor is a fellow student who assists with planning and establishing a structure. Mentor meetings take place on University premises during the daytime. If you are interested, send a personal letter to

Study assistant

Working as a study assistant means that you support a student during various practical sessions and provide writing or reading assistance.
