2007 Degree Ordinance

  

Higher Education Diploma
Higher Education Diploma is awarded when the student has fulfilled the requirements of 120 higher education credits within a subject area that the University decides. The main subject must comprise of at least 60 higher education credits.

Malmö University rules with regard to Higher Education Diploma

  • with the exception of the 60 higher education credits of the main subject, higher education credits to be used in the degree are optional.

Bachelors Degree
The Bachelors Degree is awarded after the student has fulfilled the requirements of 180 higher education credits within a subject that the University decides. The main subject must comprise of at least 90 higher education credits.

To be awarded a Bachelors Degree the student must, in accordance with the requirements, have completed a degree project of at least 15 higher education credits in the main subject.

Malmö University rules with regard to Bachelors Degree

  • with the exception of the 90 higher education credits of the main subject, higher education credits to be used in the degree are optional.

Masters Degree (One Year)
A Masters Degree (One Year) is awarded after the student has fulfilled the requirements of 60 higher education credits within a subject that the University decides. At least 30 higher education credits must be second level/cycle within the main subject.

Furthermore, the student must have been awarded a Bachelors Degree, Bachelors Degree in Arts, professional qualification of at least 180 higher education credits, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

To be awarded a Bachelors Degree the student must, in accordance with the requirements, have completed a degree project of at least 15 higher education credits in the main subject.

Malmö University rules with regard to Masters Degree (One Year)

  • in addition to the 30 higher education credits in the main subject at the second level/cycle), at least 15 higher education credtis at the second level/cycle) are required (the subject is optional, it does not need to be within the main subject)
  • a maximum of 15 first level/cycle higher education credits can be counted towards the degree
  • courses already counted towards a general qualification at the first level/cycle cannot be counted towards a general qualification at the second level/cycle.

Masters Degree (Two Years)
A Masters Degree (Two Years) is awarded after the student has fulfilled the requirements of 120 higher education credits within a subject that the University decides. At least, 60 higher education credits must be second level/cycle higher education credits within the main subject.

Furthermore, the student must have been awarded a Bachelors Degree, Bachelors Degree in Arts, professional qualification of at least 180 higher education credits, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

  • in addition to the 60 higher education credits in the main subject at the second level/cycle, at least 15 higher education credits at the second level/cycle are required (the subject is optional, it does not need to be within the main subject).
  • A maximum of 30 first level/cycle higher education credits can be counted towards the degree.
  • Courses already counted towards a general qualification at the first level/cycle cannot be counted towards a general qualification at the second level/cycle.
