Information on the library’s processing of personal data

In connection with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force as of 25 May 2018, we want to inform you about how we process and protect your personal data.

What personal data do we process and why?

To enable you to get a loan card and use the library's resources and services, we save information about your name, personal identity number, telephone number, e-mail and address. The legal basis of the processing is contractual.

How long is my personal data stored?

The data will be processed as long as the account is active, following which the data will be deleted. Unless you decide to terminate the contract earlier, inactive accounts are deleted after two years. If you have any debts to the library, they will remain in our records until the case is closed.

You can find out what data is registered about you or comment on the processing of data collected by contacting Malmö University library or the university’s Data Protection Officer at dataskyddsombud@mau.se. Complaints that cannot be resolved with Malmö University can be submitted to the Swedish Data Protection Authority.
