It used to be the property management company MKB’s main office, but rebuilt into student accommodation in 1999. Xantippa is a dormitory residence.

Basic information about Xantippa
There are 36 unfurnished apartments between 20 and 40sqm. Of those, 32 apartments are part of a dormitory and have private bedrooms and bathroom, but a shared kitchen. The other four apartments have two bedrooms and private kitchens. Rent ranges between SEK 3100 and 5000 per month, including electricity and heating. Rent is paid ten months of the year - July and August are rent free. NOTE! To sign a lease, you must have a Swedish guarantor or pay a deposit of three months' rent.

What community amenities are available?
Broadband internet is available through MKB Net. The connection fee is SEK 495 for students and once you’re connected you can choose from several different broadband suppliers. For TV/cable connections you will need a digital box which you can rent from MKB. The box plus the basic selection of channels cost SEK 175 per month. You can get additional channels as well for an additional cost. Xantippa is situated close to Kronprinsen, a shopping centre which has a large supermarket.

There’s a bus stop close by connecting you to the city.  It is within easy cycling distance to much of the university campus.
