Digital archiving of degree project documents

At Malmö University we save digital copies of degree projects for archival purposes.

For course coordinators, this means:

  • you are required to make students aware of the new policy regarding digital archiving of degree project documents at the start of the course, and refer them to the information available here
  • you must make the student aware that they are required to register mandatory information in MUEP (Malmö University Electronic Publishing) such as project title, programme and whether they consent to the degree project document being made public or not. These details are necessary for the digital management of their degree project. Instructions for publishing and archiving in MUEP are available on the library’s website.
  • if a degree project contains any non-written work, you are required to contact one of Malmö University’s archivists (arkiv@mah.se) to discuss/decide on how the project should be archived and then relay this information to the student and examiner. This should be done well in advance of examination.

For examiners, this means:

  • you must ensure that the degree project document has been checked for plagiarism through Urkund;
  • you must send the final version of the document, including information about the examination date and grade, to the Student Services Assistant for result reporting in Ladok, publishing and archiving, according to the procedures outlined by the faculty; and
  • you are required to send documentation of degree projects that contain any non-written content to the student services assistant.

For student services assistants, this means:

  • you are required to publish the final version of the degree project document in MUEP (Malmö University Electronic Publishing) and fill in any missing mandatory information;
  • you must send documentation of degree projects that contain any non-written content to the University’s archive (arkiv@mah.se); and
  • you must register the student’s grade in Ladok.

The degree project document will then be published in MUEP, from where it will be retrieved for archiving in the University's e-archive. Any non-written work will be archived according to an agreement with the student.
