Workshop digital historia / Digital history

Tid: 2018-05-24 12:00 -- 2018-05-25 17:00
Plats: Niagara, Nordenskiöldsgatan 1
Målgrupp: Invited researchers

In the past few years, the field of Digital Humanities has diversified to become truly extensive and dynamic. In order to properly and critically engage with this growing field, Dr. Sara Ellis Nilsson and Dr. Stefan Nyzell are holding a two-day, international workshop (May 24-25, 2018). Funded by RJ research initiation, it will bring together key scholars from a number of digital humanities disciplines. All of these engage in one form or another with Digital History, whether it be digital pedagogy, public history, history, digitization, or literary history.

Building upon this interdisciplinary foundation, the workshop will create a network that will engage in new critical digital history research. The aim of the workshop is to critically explore the ontological aspects of this field leading to a deeper understanding and contributing to its continued development. Participants will be presenting and discussing the following questions: 1) What has critical digital history research entailed and what should it entail? 2) What is the most appropriate approach to creating an ontology (or ontologies) of digital history? Both philosophical and IT/data aspects will be addressed.

Thursday May 24th 12am-5pm
Friday May 25th 9am-5pm
