Apply for Exchange Studies

Malmö University's exchange places are announced twice a year. Before you start your application you will need to check the announcement of places at your department or faculty webpage, and find the universities you are interested in. Make sure to read the application instructions carefully.

The announcement of places is published at each department or faculty one month before the application deadline. The deadline for applications during the autumn semester is 15th of October and during the spring semester 15th of March. You need to apply for exchange studies 6 months (one semester) up to 1 ½ years (three semesters) prior to the exchange semester, so make sure to plan ahead and apply on time!

Autumn semester (Ht)

Places are announced for exchange studies in countries outside of Europe during the coming academic year. Places are also announced in the Nordic Countries (Nordplus) and Europe (Erasmus+) during the coming year (both spring and autumn semesters).

The announcement of places is done 15th of September and the deadline for applications is 15th of October.

NOTE: You may have to apply for exchange studies already during your first autumn semester in order to be able to study abroad outside of Europe in your fourth semester, since these places are announced on an academic year basis!

Spring semester (Vt)

Places are announced for exchange studies in the Nordic Countries (Nordplus) and Europe (Erasmus+) during the coming academic year. Places are also announced in countries outside of Europe, if there are places remaining to be filled from the autumn announcement.

The announcement of places is done 15th of February and the deadline for applications is 15th of March.

Make sure you attend information meetings at your department or faculty during the application periods - the international coordinators and administrators can answer many of your questions!
