The course Internship - Reflecting on one's own practice (15 credits) is an elective course and is intended for students who have studied two semesters in the programme Media and Communication Studies: Culture, Collaborative Media, and Creative Industries, Two-year Master's programme. It is also possible to apply for the course for students who have graduated from the Communication for Development, One-year master.


  • For Media and Communication Studies students, the course is conducted as full time studies during the first half of the fall semester 2017 (August 28, 2017 – November 5, 2017).
  • For Communication for Development students, the course is conducted as half-time studies in the fall semester 2017 (August 28, 2017 – January 14, 2018).

The internship must start and end within this timeframe.


To be eligible for the course you:

• have submitted an application to the course via a special form no later than April 15, 2017
• have found a suitable internship and submitted data about it (see "Find internship" below) no later than June 1, 2017.
• have gotten the internship approved by the course coordinator
• have completed at least 60 credits in your programme no later than August 28, 2017
Internships cannot be conducted unless all the above criteria are fulfilled!

Find internship

You are responsible for finding an internship yourself.
The following requirements are made on the internship:
• The internship should last at least 8 weeks / 256 hours.
• The internship must be unpaid.
• The internship will be scheduled on an established workplace.
• The tasks must be relevant to your subject area and should require training in the field.
• You should have a supervisor at the internship workplace.

Submit details of your internship

You submit details of your internship by filling out a the Form - My Internship. Deadline for submitting the form is June 1, 2017 to mcs@mah.se

NOTE! To get the internship approved is not the same as being eligible for the course! You must have completed 60 credits in your programme to be admitted and registered for the course Internship which starts August 28, 2017.

Internships outside of Sweden

Once an internship on a workplace outside of Sweden is approved by us, we will contact you with more information about how to submit additional information to enable you to obtain an insurance certificate from us.

NOTE! Contact person and Organisation details should be in the country in which you practice. Representatives from organisations in Sweden are not accepted.
