EDUCARE - Scientific Journal

EDUCARE is a peer reviewed journal published since 2005 at the School of Teacher Education, Malmö University. EDUCARE reflects and articulates a wide range of research in education, in the arts and humanities, and the social sciences. EDUCARE is a Swedish and Nordic research forum for faculty, practitioners and policymakers.


Articles can be submitted in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and English. The author’s name, affiliation and academic title should appear at the beginning of the article, together with full postal and email addresses. An abstract (100-200 words) should also be provided. The article itself shouldn´t exceed more than 55000 characters, with spaces. All material/works cited in the article need to be included in an alphabetical reference list at the end. The APA style should be used, but slightly modified to include both surname and first name.

Pictures, diagrams and graphs should be made to conform to the length and breadth (0-12 cm) of the printed page. We recommend using the EDUCARE-template when processing the article. It is also advisable to consult previous issues for reference. Manuscripts should be submitted as email attachments (Word) to the editor of EDUCARE: educare@mah.se

Publishing policy

Articles should not have been published elsewhere. When an article has been accepted, it will be issued both in a print version and electronically, through MUEP, Malmö University Electronic Publishing.

Review process

All articles are first reviewed by the editorial board. In the next step articles are refereed by two external reviewers. The general editor then notifies the author of the outcome. If the article is to be published, the editor suggests changes and modifications where necessary.


Articles will be judged on the basis of their:

  • Relevance from a professional-educational perspective
  • Rhetorical quality
  • Critical insights
  • Use of theory and method
