About MIM

MIM’s overall research programme is divided into three themes:

- Migration and politics
- Migration and diversity
- Migration and welfare

Different research programmes/projects are coordinated and developed under each theme, and address local, transnational and global aspects of migration. The starting point for each theme is the Öresund and Scania Region with a particular focus on Malmö, when relevant. This focus on the Öresund/Scania Region and Malmö serves as a useful profile for MIM, albeit maintaining a comparative perspective in an international context, and with developed sensitivity for transnational aspects of local effects of migration.
