Criminology is the study of crime and is a discipline based on social science and behavioural science research.
Common criminological questions are:
- Why enter into a life of crime?
- What is it that makes some people continue to commit crime throughout their lives whilst others 'terminate' their criminal career?
- Generally, is crime in society increasing or decreasing and, if so, why?
Criminological research is conducted at the Department as well as education on both foundation and advanced level.
