Faculty of Culture and Society

The Faculty of Culture and Society is a multidisciplinary education and research area that encompasses three departments and one school: Deparment of Global Political Studies, Department of International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), School of Arts and Communication (K3) and Department of Urban Studies.  The Faculty also includes Centre for Widening Participation and an Administration.

The Faculty of Culture and Society has approximately 4,000 full-term study places and approximately 300 employees.

The area offers a broad range of educational programmes oriented towards global social processes and the shifting consequences that these may impart on both individuals and society as a whole. The central focus targets fundamental issues of citizenship, such as democracy, migration, integration, sustainable development, and various aspects of information and communications technology.  Many of these educational programmes are held in English, and several of the programmes include creative or figurative elements, employing and developing techniques based on human needs.
