School of Technology and a University in Shanghai Discuss Possible Cooperation
2009-12-03
A delegation from Shanghai Second Polytechnic University recently visited the School of Technology to discuss possibilities for cooperation. Malmö University representatives at the meeting, Jonas Forsberg and Yuanjia Cheng, warmly welcomed the visit.
Shanghai Second Polytechnic University (SSPU) lies in the growing Pudong district of Shanghai and has over 10 000 full-time students. The Chinese delegation that visited the School of Technology last week can see many similarities between SSPU and Malmö University, and they are very interested in future teacher and student exchanges, mainly within the technical disciplines. The University already has a successful cooperation with the Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) and would like an exchange agreement with the School of Technology as soon as possible. Contact between Malmö University and SSPU was arranged by Linda Tang, a former student at the School of Technology, who has her origins in China.
At the meeting from the School of Technology was senior lecturer Yuanjia Cheng and Jonas Forsberg, lecturer. Along with the head of the school, Naser Eftekharian, the three view possible cooperation positively.
- Our students need to get out and see how other parts of the world reach their goals - both in terms of knowledge and market conditions, said Cheng Yuanjia.
