Travelling to Malmö University

Malmö is located in the very south of Sweden, 600 km south of Stockholm, 20 mins by train across the Öresound strait from Copenhagen in Denmark.

Airports
Malmö airport (Sturup): Upon arriving at Malmö's airport Sturup you can take a bus directly into Malmö Central train station (which is located in the centre of the city). See: www.flygbussarna.se for timetables and prices. You can also take a taxi.

Copenhagen airport (Kastrup): Upon arrival at Copenhagen's Airport Kastrup you can take the train directly to Malmö, from Terminal 3, where baggage claim and customs are located. (You can also book your flight to include the train ticket). Trains depart three times an hour and a one-way journey by train costs SEK 90. Tickets can be bought at the Airport's station. The ticket offices close at 11 pm but ticket machines can be found at the exit to the platforms. The estimated journey time to Malmö is 20 minutes. The train takes you to Malmö Central station, which is the third stop (there are two stations between the airport and Malmö Central: 'Hyllie' and 'Triangeln'). By boat
From Trelleborg or Ystad from Germany or Poland, you can take the bus (from Trelleborg) or train (from Ystad) directly to Malmö. See www.skanetrafiken.se for more information.

By car
The Öresund Bridge crosses the Öresund strait and provides a new efficient way to travel between Malmö and Copenhagen, either by car or by train. The price for crossing the bridge by car is currently SEK 290.

Trains & train stations
Travel directly to Malmö Central Station. At Malmö Central Station there are an abundance of taxis' or buses. We recommend taking a taxi, especially if it is your first time in Malmö. We recommend taking a taxi if you will be visiting Malmö University's School of Technology and Society, the Faculty of Health and Society and the Faculty of odontology. Other Malmö University departments/buildings are only a short walk from the central station on University Island.

Please check the price of the journey with the driver before departing. You should not have to pay more than 100SEK. The taxi company Delta Cab offers a fixed price of 59 SEK within the city centre.
