Assistive software

Malmö University offers a number of linguistic support softwares for students. These assistive softwares are available on the student computers in the Library. Some software is also available to download and use on your (students and staff) private computer throughout your entire period of study.

Text to speech software for supporting reading and writing. For example web-documents and pdf:s. You can also scan paper-documents and read them with Claro Read Pro. There are several different voices to choose from via SKOLON.

StavaRex3StavaRex - a spelling program in Swedish.

Powerful spell checker for people writing in Swedish. It picks up on very deviant spellings and helps distinguish between similar-sounding words by displaying them in sentences. 
StavaRex is also available for Mac. 

SpellRight2SpellRight
Download from SKOLON.
Spell checker for people writing in English. Specially designed to be sensitive to typical errors made by Swedes, Danes, Norwegians and Finns (or others), who are writing in English. Choose: SpellRight 2 for Windows and SpellRight MAC.

Computers with Easy Reader

Easy Reader is a program for reading talking books. It allows you to read and listen to content through a combination of text, speech and images.You find it on the computers at the Writing centre and in Group Room B532, both at the Orkanen Library.
