Borrowing and Requesting
You can borrow books and place holds free of charge at Malmö University’s three libraries. You search for books in the Library search Libsearch. You can pick up holds and return loans at any of the libraries. You can renew books and films yourself at My loans, if there are no other holds for the titles. Read more about requesting books.
You will find obligatory course literature for borrowing and as reference material at the library. Read more about the library's policy for acquisition of course literature.
The easiest way to travel from Universitetsholmen (Orkanen Library) to Södervärn (the Health and Society Library or the Oral Health Library) is by train (Citytunnel) or by bus number 8. Use Skånetrafiken's (public transport in Skåne) journey planner.
Students and staff can use their multicards as library cards. If you don’t yet have a multicard, you can get one in the card machine in Orkanen Library or at the faculty where you study. Read more about multicards.
Online Books and Journals
Use your computer ID to read the library’s collection of electronic books and journals on your own computer. Follow the links in Libsearch and Databases A-Z.
Interlibrary Loans and Suggest Books for Purchase
Students and staff at the university can always order books and articles not owned by Malmö University Libraries. We prefer to buy new books instead of ordering Interlibrary Loans.
Interlibrary book loans within Scandinavia are free of charge; article copies cost 20 kr each. Article copies are sent by post and paid for next time you visit the library.
The Library Catalogue for Mobile Phones
The mobile catalogue works on iPhones, Androids and other phones with web-browsing capabilities and is free of charge. Read more about how it works.
