What does merit rating (MR) and selection group mean?

Assessment of merits and selection

Qualified applicants receive one or more merit ratings, which determine the applicant’s selection ranking. In the selection applicants with the highest selection ranking are prioritized. However, a low selection ranking does not mean you will not be admitted and a higher selection ranking does not mean you are guaranteed admission.

Some applicants will not qualify for the selection groups. When applying for master education it is mostly student who have not finished their bachlor education (but will before programme start). Those applicants are accepted after the applicants with a merit rating in one of the selection groups.  Below is a list of merit ratings without selection groups.
