English Language Requirements
Malmö University requires an English proficiency equivalent to English course B in Swedish secondary school for admission to all programmes and courses in taught in English.
Depending on your educational background, you may be required to submit your secondary school credentials or a standardized test/certificate as proof of your English proficiency.
New rules regarding the test scores required for English tests are implemented by the Swedish National Admissions Services (VHS). The new scores will be required from applicants for all admissions to spring semester 2012 and onwards. More information regarding the new required scores can be found at universityadmissions.se.
Required test score for studies starting Spring 2012 onwards
IELTS: an academic test with an overall mark of 6.5 and no module under 5.5.
TOEFL (Paper-based): total score of at least 575. The written test must be at lest 4.5 (scale 1-6)
TOEFL (Internet-based): total score of at least 90. The written test must be at least 20 (scale 0-30)
TOEFL test results must always be sent directly from ETS, use code 9520.

Upper secondary education
Some foreign secondary school credentials contain English studies at a level considered to be equivalent to the English course B requirement (usually 8 years of study for the equivalent of English course B).
Academic credentials
If you have previous university education in English or taught in English you may be fulfill the requirement. There is a list of recognised exemptions at the bottom of the English Requirements page on universtiyadmissions.se. Please note, Letters of Proficiency are not considered acceptable documentation.
