Security when travelling

When travelling abroad on behalf of the university, such as when attending a conference, it is vitally important that you obtain information about possible risks at your travel destination and keep informed about what is happening during your stay.

The university follows the Recommendations of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs

The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) advises against travel to all or part of a country when the security situation is considered to be very dangerous, unpredictable or susceptible to rapid adverse change. For trips abroad on behalf of the university, the recommendations or advice from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs must be followed. Any exceptions must be approved by the Vice-Chancellor.

You will find the MFA’s current travel recommendations here (in Swedish only)

Insurance when travelling on behalf of the university

Malmö University has a business travel insurance policy via Kammarkollegiet - The Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency, which applies when you are officially travelling on behalf of the university, both inside and outside of Sweden.
