2nd Asian Conference of
Oral Health Promotion for school children

The 2nd Asian Conference of Oral Health Promotion for Schoolchildren under the theme Prospectus for Our Future Generation was held in Ayutthaya, Thailand on 21-23 February 2003. The Conference was organized by the Faculty of Dentistry, Thammasat University and co-sponsored by the World Health Organization, Geneva and the Japanese Association of School Dentists. The Conference's objectives were not only sharing the progress and achievements of school oral health promotion activities but also focused on constraints of implementation in each country and gave suggestions for visions and closer collaboration in the future.

The Conference was well attended by 190 participants from 20 countries in Asia, namely: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, People's Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Laos, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan-China, Vietnam and Thailand. The Conference included four keynote speakers, nineteen reports on oral health promotion for school children from the participating countries and eleven poster presentations.
